Non-Recyclable Materials

While Radius facilities accept many ferrous and nonferrous metals for recycling, there are certain materials we do not take for the safety of our employees and protection of our natural environment. Please review our list of prohibited items before visiting our facilities.

Combatting Metal Theft

At Radius, we take the issue of metal theft very seriously and implement proactive strategies to ensure we are part of a solution to this growing problem. We do not accept stolen materials at our facilities.

Fluorescent light bulbs that are not accepted for metal recycling

Airbags

Closed containers such as enclosed drums or tanks

Hazardous waste or chemicals

Flammable materials, ammunition, explosives and Lithium ion batteries

Fluids including oils, gasoline, antifreeze, hydraulic fluid, gear oil, or grease

Fluorescent lights

Paint cans

Radioactive materials

Refrigerants

Tires, wood, dirt, yard debris, concrete, asphalt, glass, rubber

Radius facilities do not accept hazardous materials, sealed containers, pressurized tanks, electronics, appliances, asbestos, or items containing oil, chemicals, or toxins. Please review our prohibited items list before visiting our yards to ensure safe and compliant recycling.

Can I bring scrap with plastic or rubber attached?Yes, you can bring scrap metal with plastic or rubber attached, but additional processing fees may apply. For faster service, we recommend removing non-metal components before dropping off.

No, sealed containers, pressurized tanks, and gas cylinders are strictly prohibited at Radius facilities due to safety concerns. Please ensure all items are empty and depressurized before recycling.

Radius does not accept items containing hazardous materials, including oil, chemicals, paint, or flammable substances. These materials pose environmental and safety risks.

Radius accepts dismantled electronic components for recycling. For proper disposal of non-dismantled electronics, please use certified e-waste recycling centers.

Radius yards do accept intact non-damaged lead acid batteries for recycling.

Radius facilities do not accept asbestos or toxic materials. These substances require specialized handling at approved hazardous waste disposal sites.

If your load contains prohibited items, Radius staff will reject the entire load or require removal of restricted materials before processing. This ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
